Distillery Christmas Tree

Distillery Christmas Tree.jpg

They really go all out for Christmas down in the Distillery.  This tree is huge, and I don't even want to think about how many lights there are on it.

Christmas Feast

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and enjoyed good food, good friends and family.  A new year has begun, and I`m looking forward to seeing new things, taking more pictures, and exploring new places.

Santa IV

More decorations from our Christmas tree - new pictures next week, I promise!

Disco Ball

Not everyone has taken their Christmas decorations down yet.  Taken through the window of LPK's Culinary Groove - a wonderful bakery at the corner of Queen and Broadview.  They make the most excellent savoury shortbreads there.

Another closeup of the Christmas tree.

Ornament II

Okay - I know, it's the middle of January already - but don't you miss Christmas already?  I know I do.

In the window of the Umbra store on John Street.  Don't these look like cool little ornaments?

Looking Into The Distance

Looking Into The Distance.jpg

As we get closer and closer to Christmas, I start thinking about how nice it's going to be to relax after all the frenzy.  I love this time of year, but man, is there a lot to do.  Taken at the Eaton Center, shopping for the kids.

Eaton Center at Christmas

Eaton Center At Christmas.jpg

The Eaton Center is always so well decorated for Christmas time.  And it's always so busy.  But, I've gotten most of my Christmas shopping done already - just a couple more gifts to get, and I'll be ready to wrap.

OMG Santa! II

OMG Santa II.jpg

Another of the many Santas that have sprung up like early winter mushrooms in my house.  I kid her, but I really like it when my fiance commits a Christmas on our house - I like seeing the decorations, the tree, and the Santas.  (And how can you not like someone that has over 2 1/2 days of Christmas music in her iTunes?)

The Oak Room II

Oak Room II.jpg
Doesn't this look like an awesome room to spend Christmas morning in?

The Windsor Room

Another picture from the Casa Loma trip.  This guest bedroom was lit with the late afternoon sun by the time we got to it.

The Oak Room

Oak Room.jpg
I took my fiance to Casa Loma for her birthday.  She hadn't been there since she was in grade school, and I'd never been there.  We started out on the first floor, and this was the first room we really looked at.  The entire room is panelled in oak, and the carving took two men three years to complete.  The results are gorgeous, though, aren't they?

One of the best parts of the Santa Claus Parade was the marching bands.  When I was a kid, I liked the floats, but now I find myself liking the bands - maybe I'm just getting old.

Happy Birthday, Jennifer!

It's my little sister's birthday today.  No - I'm not going to tell you how old she is.  But I will tell you that I'm very glad that I have my sister, and that I've missed her while we've been apart.  Here's hoping that you have a great year, Jennifer, and that we can see each other more often than we've managed in the past.

Christmas Present

My sister gave this lovely decoration to my fiance for Christmas. Thanks, Jenn - it's gorgeous, and it'll look great next year at Christmas.  I love the single red ball in the mass of silver ones.

Merry Christmas II

Taken with my new(!) camera - a closeup of one of the many ornaments on our Christmas tree.  I know that it's almost New Year's Eve, but I'm having fun taking pictures around the house - I don't want to venture outside yet - it's too soon after Christmas.  Maybe tomorrow I'll go outside and see what this baby can do.

Cranberries and Christmas Tree

My sweetheart bought me a new camera - a Canon Rebel XTi - for Christmas.  So, of course, I had to try it out.  This is an attempt to do something that she did in one of her shots - here - and it turned out wonderfully.  She spoils me, and I love her to bits.  I'm a very lucky guy.

Fascinated by the Wii

They're rare, but they're not expensive.  They're not the best game system, technically, but they're the best selling.  There's something special about the combination of things that go into making a Wii, but this little boy doesn't care what it is - he just REALLY wants one.  Taken at the Eaton Center on the Saturday before Christmas.

Merry Christmas I

Some of the many ornaments my lovely wife has put on our tree.  (She actually used 10 strings of 100 lights on the tree - we don't need any other illumination in the living room when it's plugged in!)

Christmas Lights

Some of the lights at Nathan Phillips Square.

Eaton Center Tree

I love the Swarovski Christmas tree that they set up in the Eaton Center every year.  It sparkles, glitters, and spins.  Tourists and shoppers love it too, as evidenced by the large numbers that are always around taking pictures.
